For the Rothko in Florence launch, Kaleydo delivered audio and lighting services for all key events of the Grand Opening Nights, including the inaugural dinner and an exclusive cocktail party with Christopher Rothko, the artist’s son and co-curator of the Mark Rothko exhibition.

I think that color, aided by light, enters into a relationship with the soul, bringing about unexpected emotional consequences. [M. Rothko]

The lighting for the inauguration was inspired by Rothko’s color palette, creating visual continuity between the artworks and the reception areas.

Within this subtle dialogue between light, space and perception, Kaleydo’s contribution takes shape: a project conceived to guide the public through the Palazzo‘s areas and amplify the immersive dimension the event set out to achieve.

A unique opportunity to open the doors of an exhibition displaying over 70 works of art from prestigious private collections and leading international museums, including New York’s MoMA and Met, London’s Tate, Paris’ Centre Pompidou and Washington’s National Gallery of Art. The inauguration featured themed DJ sets and live music performances at each opening event, all staged and supervised with Kaleydo’s technical assistance. From the Palazzo‘s Entrance Hall to the main Attic Loggia, every audio and lighting solution met the site’s requirements as a UNESCO World Heritage location, ensuring safe crossings for the guests and full respect for its historical context, while optimizing logistics costs.
